Our Sessions are high intensity and fun, focusing more on health and how you feel about yourself rather than how you look. Sessions are designed and structured by Advanced Personal Trainers Damian Scannell, Victoria Cole & Thomas Scannell, Our team consists of two ex-athletes and an experienced trainer wanting to provide clients with the best possible training programmes.

Set in the heart of Addiscombe, Croydon, Simply Fitness UK is a small intimate  family run health studio. Set up for those who want to start their health journey but are put off at the thought of a commercial gym. For those who want to train in a private setting with daily support and encouragement. 


As a health and fitness enthusiast, my passion for athletics led me to become a certified personal trainer and sports masseuse. After many years of training and competing, I gained first hand experience of a healthy mind and body. 

Throughout my years of being actively involved in sport and becoming a mother, I strongly believe in the necessity for an active lifestyle. It gives me great pleasure to pass along my existing knowledge and enthusiasm to other women, young and old, mums and mums-to-be with the highest standard possible.

Experienced Lead Trainer Damian Scannell has over 15 years experience in the health industry. Once plying his trade in the top divisions of professional football, he has incorporated his sports related background into his style of training. A fully qualified personal trainer, he has also took the liberty to further his education.

Although he is known for his military style regime, he is dynamic in his training methods, catering directly for client’s needs and goals. 


Fun, enthusiastic, passionate are just a few to list the energy I put into working with everyone on their fitness journey, I’ve been in the fitness industry for 12 years. I am a former Physical Trainer Instructor within the British Army. I bring with me robustness, integrity, high level of discipline, and determination to our clients and as a part of the Simply Fitness family we stand out purely because the energy is second to none. Step by step process and goal building methods to create a tailored training programme best suited to your needs.

Having worked on the fitness industry for over 5 years I have learnt a number of lessons in not only helping people physically but also mentally which is just as important. My main focus with our clients is to help them understand the WHY! How I see things is that you as a client should be confident and have the knowledge to be able to do without me.

I will take my time with each of my clients to ensure their form is correct, their understanding is strong and to also provide them with that push to help them achieve their goals and step out of that comfort zone.

I am a qualified Personal Trainer (Level 3), I have also attained a HPT5 Movement Specialist Programme Certification. There’s nothing I find more satisfying than working with clients of all ages and abilities who are looking to get fit and improve their quality of life.

My training sessions are hard work but I also help clients to have fun, move better, be fitter, happier, stronger and healthier in body, mind and spirit.

Since joining Simply Fitness UK in February 2018, not only have I lost weight, I'm actually the fittest I've ever been in my whole adult life! My relationship with exercise has completely changed and now I feel guilty if I don't exercise at least twice a week.
This is something that never entered my mind before. I feel stronger, confident and happy.
The Team @simplyfitnessuk have given me the confidence to do what I never thought possible. I attend their Women's Only Programme 2-3 times a week and have recently started to go jogging by myself. I'm not quite running 10k but I'll get there LOL.
You can do anything with the right mindset and the right people around you. I've met some amazing women who I now call friends. I'll never go to another gym again!!

In April 2015, I had a total knee replacement. I needed someone to give me the confidence to get me through the things ahead of me.
I was introduced to Damien who showed me compassion and was very enthusiastic in helping me to be where I once was. He was very different from other personal trainers, as he cared and very much wanted what you wanted, he spent a lot of his own time researching to ensure I reached my goals safely. Damien is unique with a lot of energy which is channeled on his clients.
